We are delighted to be working for a very valued client, an Educational Charity Trust, who are committed to enriching the lives and transforming the futures for children. This role is a full time role - working term time only 10 days. The Role: A superb opportunity for a qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CIPFA or equivalent has arisen to join a Charitable Educational Trust Working directly with a vibrant, forward thinking and engaging COO to drive the finance delivery and service across the Trust and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the Finance department. In this varied and diverse role, you will be fully responsibe for producing the management accounts for all academies and set robust budget management across the Trust. You will ensure the Finance service is effective, efficient and business focused approach, creating and implementing robust financial management contributing towards harmonised financial procedures. Supporting the COO maintaining the integrated risk framework for the Trust. Preparation of all statutory financial returns, annual budgets and a production of a variety of financial analysis and Board reports. Monitoring the Trust’s financial position and production of monthly financial information. Overseeing cash management and ensuring the Trust has a strong cash management strategy and controls in place. Managing the accounting budgeting systems and identifying variances Cash flow forecasting and completion of VAT returns and year end. Providing advice and guidance on financial matters and ensuring the accurate management accounts (including income and expenditure and balance sheet and other report and KPIs are produced in accordance with the Trust’s requirements. Management of a small finance team in a proactive approach Working closely with the will require a proactive approach to engage the wider business The Person: Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent Proven track record and demonstrable experience of working in the education sector will be a distinct advantage Thorough working knowledge and understanding of the financial legislation to interpret a range of legislative and regulatory issues Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills with excellent communication in order influence and explain financial solutions, budget and financial control matters to non-financial staff Ability to lead and motivate staff to be the best they can be Good commerical acumen with the ability to balance risk and reward Previous strategic and business planning experience within education will be a definite advantage although not essential Our client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
