Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a software Developer to work with our client based in Motherwell on a Permanent basis. Pay Rate- £40k Our client is the leading provider of integrated drug discovery services, providing there clients with compound management, medicinal chemistry and biology services and expertise. With their continued success and ongoing expansion, they are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic software developer and database administrator who will thrive in a fast-paced environment to join the well-established compound management team. This position would suit a driven individual with strong problem-solving skills, able to embrace new responsibilities and enjoy the challenges that come with them. We are looking for a talented, experienced professional who thrives on making a difference and is passionate about building the capacity needed to deliver our digital ambition. As software developer and database administrator you will work closely with colleagues from across the organisation to develop the vision and implement an agreed approach to be ready for further expansion. You will also support the development of existing and new applications for improving communication between its customers. The ideal candidate will enjoy understanding data systems on a deeper level but is also intellectually honest and appreciates the global impact of their actions across the organisation. Requirements: A solid understanding of relational databases and significant experience with SQL e.g. Oracle Fluency in at least one major programming language, e.g. PHP, C++ or Python Understand and analyse project requirements and translate into programming deliverables Knowledge of system administration, networking, etc… Excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills Good communication, presentation and negotiation skills Good team working skills. Desirable: Has worked with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) Exposure to a Life Science industry Qualifications: You will be educated to degree level and have demonstrated relevant experience in these particular fields; programming qualifications would be advantageous. You are an enthusiastic team-player who is excited by the prospect of utilising the opportunities available and to further develop your career. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to convey complex concepts to clients, project teams and colleagues.
