Our Home in Meopham are recruiting for lively and resilient Support Workers. Is this you? Do you have a passion to work with children and young people? Are you looking for a rewarding role? Are you experienced with working with vulnerable young people or children with challenging behaviours, and complex needs? We are looking for Residential Support Workers in our home supporting children and young people aged 8 - 18 years with EBD, complex behaviours and challenging behaviours in Meopham, Kent working within an established and committed team. Previous experience with children and young people is desirable but we can support you with the training and guidance you need once you join us. The environment we work in can be challenging so the people that join us need to: Ideally have a Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People or be willing to work towards this qualification Have previous experience of working with children with challenging behaviours in a residential, youth, school or similar setting Be resilient and have a passion for the work we do Be enthusiastic and strong role models for the young people we support helping them to achieve their full potential Are a team player with good communication skills, has a calm approach, can use their own initiative and ‘can do’ attitude Have a good sense of humour and have the ability to develop positive relationships with the young people and keep them safe in a caring environment Have a good level of written and verbal communication skills to maintain administrative records. Some of the duties and responsibilities will require you to: Support young people in their individual day to day needs in a residential care home Provide a safe and caring environment supporting children and young people with their physical, social and emotional well-being Be energetic and support young people to engage in activities such as swimming, sports, games and life skills Inspire children and young people to reach their full potential in life Complete and maintain administrative records as required by the Home and legislation Develop and maintain professional working relationships Have a good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection. You will be working as part of a team in a shift pattern working various shifts on a rota basis which will include some sleep-ins. The successful candidate will need to be flexible to accommodate this. Successful candidates will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS and Referencing Check A driving licence is essential for this role and it is preferable that this has been held for at least three years.
