Are you a skilled Electrical Technician experienced in conducting routine electrical maintenance tasks, and electrical defect works? The role: Working as part of a team for our Bulk Fuel operations client, the role will entail routine inspection, maintenance, and electrical repair of fuel storage plant and equipment, utilising diagnostic techniques to identify faults in depot systems and components, as well as carrying out planned maintenance activities and defect rectification efficiently. This will also include reinstating work area(s) after completing the maintenance of depot, systems and components. You will conduct safe and effective handovers of depot systems and equipment to others, and accept and confirm responsibility for the control of the depot systems and equipment within the work area isolation boundary. Travel, including travel at short notice, is an integral requirement for this role, therefore a full valid (preferably clean) driving licence is an essential requirement for the successful candidate. Responsibilities: These duties include, but are not limited to; Prepare the work area for more complex maintenance of depot, systems or components. Be authorised as a Competent Person / Electrical with all the associated competencies to carry out Electrical work across the OPA Depots in accordance with the OPA Electrical Safe System of Work. Oil Spill techniques. Be part of a Rostered "On-Call" Team. Be able to be mobile and cover other depots as required. Willing to undertake Short Notice overtime. Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate. Carrying out quality inspections. Responding immediately to equipment breakdowns. Fixing faults or arranging for replacements to be installed. Overhauling and replacing parts according to schedule. Fit and assembly of electrical systems and components making use of appropriate tools. Be responsible for the filling out of Job Request Sheets, Planned Maintenance Cards etc. Carry out PPM and extra work requirements in adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with HASAWA requirement. Work planning and scheduling. Experience/Qualifications You will be a skilled Electrical Technician preferably within hazardous operations COMAH regs experience desirable but not essential Able to demonstrate a safe working record, compliant with systems and procedures, and show you can maintain a calm and effective approach in difficult/emergency situations. You will be qualified in a relevant Engineering Craft/ Technician discipline and have completed a Modern Day Craft Apprenticeship, or be assessed as competent with relevant experience. You should also have an ECS trade card or equivalent, and be fully familiar with "permit to work" system, and isolation procedures. Experienced in reading and understanding electrical drawings including schematics, as well as some instrument experience as we are installing control systems across all our depots as part of our ongoing compliance programme. Experience of Honeywell systems is highly advantageous, as is a willingness to learn Control and Instrumentation for which training will be given. A thorough knowledge of the following are essential for the successful candidate: Maintenance of LV distribution systems. Small power and lighting. Emergency lighting and fire alarm systems. Hazardous area equipment and connections. PAT Testing. Electrical fixed Appliance testing. Understanding of SCADA or DCS systems. Understanding of automatic tank gauging systems. Understanding and knowledge of electrical switchgear. Individuals must be medically fit to undergo Breathing Apparatus and Confined Space training and operations, as well as having full colour vision.
