Overview

Hunter Global are actively recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader to assist with the Management and Supervision of the Department and Engineers. You will assist the Engineering Manager with maintaining the Company’s production plant, site facilities and services. You will liaise with suppliers and internal departments. In addition, you will carry out any other duties as instructed by management. This role will suit a Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Multi Skilled Engineer looking to progress in to the next step in their career, will also be good for somebody looking to transition from a similar role. Duties and Responsibilities - · Assist the shift engineers to carry out maintenance and repairs as required. · Assist creation of environment for routine planned maintenance of all items. · Assist with developing specifications, work instructions and procedures. · Provide management reports/feedback. · Assist with maintaining and administering company’s PeMac database. · Assist in implementation of company’s quality systems and procedures. · Ensure a safe working environment through risk assessment. · Issuance and cancellation of Permit to Work (PTW). · Report to department manager any problems/issues that have/may occur · Liaise with Suppliers and Internal Departments · Work with Engineering Manager to organise purchase of materials & services. · Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and consultants. · Monitor quality of products purchased and performance of suppliers. · Effectively handle any internal or external issues arising. · Attend management and production meetings in the Engineering Managers absence. · Convene and record minutes of Engineering Team Meetings. · Manage Staff · Treat all employees as you want to be treated yourself. · Ensure engineering staff are trained adequately for their allocated job. · Assist with recruitment and selection of new engineering staff. · Monitor staff performance and appraise where necessary. · Organise junior staff workloads and assist where necessary. · Ensure all information updated into PeMac database on completion. · Review and approve Engineer’s Team holidays in the Engineering Managers absence. · To assist the Engineering Manager in the development and training of fellow engineers by compiling ‘Records of Assessment of Competence’. This training and the formal recording of same will, if successful, lead to other engineering team members being granted ‘Authorised’ status i.e. (have the ability to issue and cancel Permits to Work). Other Duties - · Report immediately incidents and situations potentially hazardous to the health and safety of personnel and equipment that come to your notice. · Ensure a healthy, safe and clean working environment at all times. · Carry out any other duties as instructed by senior management. · Stand in for the Engineering Manager when absent. Knowledge Skills & Abilities - · Knowledge of Plant and facilities maintenance. · Technical skills evidenced by experience/training. · Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with tasks without supervision. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to use computer systems to assist with job. · Skills in handling and solving problems. · Ability to manage people. · Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. Qualifications & Experience - · Ideally from a food/fresh produce environment ideally with HACCP Level 2 · Electrical or mechanical bias but preferably competent in both. · Flexible. Will require shift cover and occasional working away at other sites (typically 1-2 week blocks 2-3 times a year) · Familiar with CMMS although training will be given. · People Management. · Good Communication Skills.
