Overview

I am currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join an impressive and very successful business in Chester. Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be exposed to all areas of Management Accounts in a commercial, fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to fast-track your Management Accounts career. Duties will include: Assisting with the preparation of overheads for the monthly management accounts ensuring that the they accurately reflect business performance Assisting with monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations and postings including accruals and prepayments Assisting with monthly Flash forecasting Assisting with audit queries Assisting in the preparation of the Group quarterly VAT returns, annual HMRC tax compliance returns, PSA tax calculations, ONS surveys and other regular external compliance reports Ensuring accurate transfer of data between the in-house purchase order system and the finance software Administration of the SAP Concur expense & travel system, including processing the accounting files, adding new users / removing leavers and any other team changes. Maintenance of fixed asset register Completion of daily bank reconciliations Providing support in other areas of the Finance Team Ad-hoc projects and duties as guided by your line manager Qualifications & Experience: AAT qualification or equivalent is advantageous and currently studying CIMA or equivalent qualification with a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and substantial experience of reconciliation work Experience of Microsoft Navision is advantageous Excellent organisation and planning skills plus a high level of efficiency, happy to be given project work and see it through to completion with minimal of assistance First rate interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills The ability to work to strict deadlines and a mature approach to work is essential Sound Microsoft Excel skills are essential as is a high standard of accuracy You will be able to demonstrate a positive, engaging, hard-working approach and exhibit the company values of Innovation, Quality, Excellence, Respect and Trust.
