Staff Nurse Location: Taunton, Somerset Salary: £32,500 - £37,000 per annum ( up to £17.00 per hour ) - negotiable depending on your experience Overtime rates: 25% extra per hour for weekday shifts, 30% extra per hour for night shifts, 50% extra per hour for weekend shifts Bonus : £5,000 bonus upon joining the hospital - paid in full Hours: Full Time and Part Time hours are available - you can choose depending on your preference (options of: 11.5 hours, 23 hours, 34.5 hours or 37.5 hours) Shifts : Options of Days only (7.30am - 8pm) or Nights only (7pm - 8am) or Mixed shifts on a rotational basis - you can choose depending on your preference. The hospital can also offer fixed shifts and are willing to accommodate specific requirements and preferences Further Details : An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified or experienced registered nurse - RMN or RNLD ( Mental Health Nurse and / or Learning Disability Nurse ) to work within a very positive, friendly and supportive Low and Medium Secure Hospital situated in Taunton, Somerset. The Hospital is proud of their good recent CQC rating. The Hospital has a very positive and supportive work environment with a brilliant long-standing team. Service Details: This Hospital has a combination of low secure and medium secure units for adults with mental health problems. Patients may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements. The hospital is currently going through a new phase and is due to open up two brand new specialist learning disabilities services early 2020. The Hospital is split into 5 wards with 15 beds on each, below are the services the hospital offers: Male Low Secure Ward Male Low Secure Ward Male Medium Secure Ward Female Low Secure Ward Female Medium Secure Ward If you have an interest to work in a specific area / on a specific ward, then please state this in your application and we will endeavour to accommodate your preference Shifts : The hospital can accommodate part-time or full-time hours and they can be flexible with shifts. They are happy to consider fixed shift patterns and they are happy to consider nurses who prefer working days only or nights only. Their shifts are as follows: Days shifts (7.30am - 8pm) or Night shifts (7.30pm - 8am). Please state if you have any preferences on your hours and/or shift pattern in your application. Location : The Hospital is very accessible via car and also on public transport. The hospital has free on-site parking. The hospital is 4 miles from their nearest train station with a bus route available directly from the station which stops outside the hospital. They also are on lots of local bus routes. Preceptorship Programme: In the case of newly qualified nurses ( Mental Health Nurse , Learning Disability Nurse and/or Registered Adult Nurse ), the Mental Health Hospital offers a fantastic preceptorship programme. They have a good number of experienced staff to support and mentor newly qualified nurses. Training / Induction and opportunities for development and progression: The hospital offers a structured and thorough 2-week induction programme, which will include various training courses. You will also have access to clear and structured development programmes where you can see clear pathways to progression within the hospital. Training and development is one of the major ethos' of the hospital. There are no limits to training and development as the hospital will fund any training course you would like to do that is relevant to your job role. Staff wellbeing: The hospital has a monthly staff wellbeing budget and regularly host wellbeing events for their staff. For example, next month a massage therapist is coming into the hospital for 3 days to give massages to nurses for free.
