Overview

Pratap Partnership are recruiting an experienced Stock Controller, on an exclusive basis, for a market leading independent supplier. The Job: The purpose of the role is to provide accurate, cost effective and timely control of the stock requirements of the company, ensuring that optimum stock is available for sale at all times. Analyse trends in customer buying patterns to help predict future stock requirements whilst working with the sales teams to identify and move out slow moving lines. Responsibility for coordinating and managing the perpetual stock taking process at our Distribution Centre and bi-annual counts at our third party storage sites. With two direct reports and reporting to the Finance Director duties will include: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, costs and locations ensuring internal Sage systems reflect the true position of stock on the ground Maintain product lines within agreed levels to ensure availability, avoiding stock outs and lost sales opportunities whilst also looking at slow moving lines Liaise with suppliers on production schedules, stock availability and delivery lead times Oversee the placing of purchase orders making sure authority levels are adhered too, supply terms and conditions are in place and goods are delivered on time Manage and coordinate the perpetual stock taking process at our DC and bi-annual counts at our third party sites Maintain high levels of communication within the business advising on stock availability, shortfalls and delays Work with and develop all direct reports to ensure they fully understand their roles, their position within the department and what is expected from them Understand the market for company products including suppliers, competitors and customers looking for trends in customer buying patterns and behaviour Continual assess current systems and working practises looking for enhancements and improvements Any other ad hoc duties that may arise The Person: You must have a minimum 2 years’ experience within a similar role Strong analytical skills are essential Good communication skills are essential You will be an advanced Excel user able to use vlookups , sumifs , pivot tables etc You must be a team player with a “can do” attitude Experience of Sage Line 200 is desirable Benefits: In return company offers competitive salary plus additional benefits
