Challenge. Create. Deliver. Evolve Are you a senior leader in the DevOps space? Do you come from an infrastructure or development background? Within our Insurance, Distribution and Outsourcing division at BGL Group, we have an exciting role for an experienced Senior TechOps Platform manager to join us within our Business Technology department. You'll collaborate at all levels, playing a positive role in influencing the strategic and technical direction of products and services. You will lead a cross functional team and have significant independence and autonomy. You'll help our cross functional technology teams (270 employees) deliver safely at pace, to both our on-premise and cloud platforms. You'll lead and develop high performing DevOps and Infrastructure teams, aligning their goals to the wider department and our customer centric approach. Behind the ethos of "you build it, you run it", your work will be key in enabling teams to grow, share and evolve in a DevOps culture. As a leader in technology, you will: Work with other technology leaders in delivering on the platform vision Shape and evangelise the DevOps culture and ways of working across technology Lead the Platform team to deliver to the needs of technology and the wider business Ensure the team are continuously improving their ways of working and engagement with the wider department Behaviours we value: Ambition Authenticity Creativity Collaboration Required skills: Proven experience of DevOps, CI/CD and Engineering practices Strategic design and leadership of on-premise and cloud platforms Back-End and Front-End system and platform experience Ability to master new skills quickly Confident speaker who can engage different audiences Project management experience with Agile working practices Experience and knowledge of Lean practices In this role, you'll engage with various stakeholder and communities: Change owners, technical stakeholders and delivery teams using your experience and insight to help define, shape and drive platform developments and ways of working both on premise and in the cloud Work with Delivery and Operations teams to assist the flow of change through the software lifecycle and the triage/resolution of live (production) issues Work with Senior Management to drive transformational programmes and improvements across the department Whilst we think the above skills are preferential, we remain open to hear from applicants that come from various backgrounds who believe they have some transferable skills for consideration.
