Overview
Urgent Requirement : Planning Officer Location: East Midlands – Local Government Rate: Negotiable dependant on experience We are currently working on an urgent requirement for a Senior Planning Officer at a busy local authority in Leicester. You will be required to carry out all relevant professional duties in relation to the County Council’s planning functions including the preparation of planning policy documents, processing planning applications, site monitoring, enforcement and other associated work. Main Duties and Responsibilities To undertake all necessary work associated with the determination of planning applications, including the review of mineral permissions, discharging conditions, undertaking and responding to consultations, site survey work, preparing reports and formulating recommendations to County Council meetings To undertake all necessary work associated with the County Council’s statutory planning policy function, including the preparation, monitoring and review of the Minerals and Waste Local Plan (including work relating to the statutory duty to co-operate), preparation of the Local Development Scheme and Statement of Community Involvement. Dealing with all relevant planning enforcement matters, including monitoring developments, investigation and taking enforcement action against alleged breaches of planning control, recording cases, responding to complaints and taking enforcement action as appropriate. Preparing and overseeing a programme of monitoring for mineral and waste sites in the County, including the supervision of staff undertaking site monitoring and liaising with site operators. Work pro-actively and collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver an effective and high-quality planning service.
