Overview

Job Title: Insurance Pricing Analyst/Actuary Location: London Full time Permanent Purpose The role holder is responsible for ensuring the development, co-ordination, monitoring and optimization of pricing models and methodologies across the SBU. It is responsible for ensuring effective delivery of robust and consistent pricing actuarial analysis to support underwriting decisions and internal / external reporting. Dimensions Technical development of the SBU underwriting tools will be a key enabler in achieving our aspirations within the SBU and this role will have direct responsibility for leading the development and management of this function and team. Key Result Areas Strategy Lead and take responsibility for the development and implementation of pricing tools to support the SBU strategic aspirations and related operational plans Pricing Development With the SBU Pricing Actuaries, ensure that pricing tools are designed and delivered to meet the needs of the SBU, where possible seeking consistencies across the SBU, regions and other SBUs as appropriate. Work closely with the Group Pricing Actuary to ensure the TP plans are aligned within the Group Responsible for the design of any new software tool and collaborate with the Pricing Development team to effectively build and deliver the tool to the business Ensure that the technical pricing development in conjunction with the Pricing Development team is able to deliver pricing tools which are: Actuarially rigorous Consistent and fully compliant with the Group Underwriting technical pricing framework Operationally robust Quick and easy to use at the point of sale Pricing Accountable for maintaining robust Technical Pricing tools, which provide underwriters with flexibility and speed of response, ensure consistency and compliance with the technical pricing Framework Responsible for the effective day-to-day delivery of pricing to underwriters, providing analysis and output as appropriate Ensure via Product Group oversight that there is a consistent underwriting and pricing methodology within lines of business across regions and locations Contribute as appropriate to the SBU Management Team in the allocation of risk tolerance across regions and classes working with Group Underwriting Modelling Oversee development of appropriate technical pricing metrics and management information and report regularly to SBU CEO and MT Embed best practice across the SBU Actuarial Pricing team, incorporating applicable guidelines from the Group Pricing Development team. Ensure appropriate levels of communication with the Group Pricing Development Manager enable common understanding and agreement of SBU pricing approach and sharing of knowledge. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with relevant Group policy, risk, regulatory and legal requirements, reporting any issues as appropriate. Person Specification: Nearly/Qualified Actuary with in depth knowledge and understanding of the Insurance market. Good understanding and knowledge of relevant SBU's underwriting environment Strong ability to work collaboratively across the business, building effective relationships Proven ability of identifying new and improving pricing tools for underwriters to better understand the risk impacts Ability to develop highly effective relationships with underwriters Excellent people management skills, engaging and motivating a diverse team and effectively managing performance.
