Construction Director Exciting opportunity for a Construction Director for our client, a growing and leading player in the high-end Self-Storage Market Purpose of the Job As a member of the real estate development Team, you will be responsible for: Advising the directors on the feasibility of new projects Providing advice on buildability, risks and costings for projects prior to land acquisition Feeding into the initial design and planning process from a building cost and efficiency perspective Construction Project Management Leading all design team meetings and assisting the existing team in managing external consultants through the pre-build design and tender stages as well as construction Advising on value engineering opportunities throughout the construction Programme Ensuring the successful deliver overall of all construction and technical investment projects, ranging in value from £2-7M per project. Ensuring all projects respect the relevant statutory legislation, planning obligations and standards Assisting the development Director in managing and reporting on project costs on a weekly basis Construction Post-Mortems Conduct comprehensive post-mortems following each project with each member of the design team, identifying success, failures and learning opportunities for future projects As Construction Director, your KPI’s will be around the following: Time Compliance with the schedule Quality-Compliance with the concept requirements, building permits and standards Cost-Compliance with the validated budget Efficiency-identifying opportunities for value engineering Health and Safety-Compliance with local regulation Profile: As the ideal candiate for Construction Director, you will be: Either a Qualified Chartered Engineer, Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5-7 years post qualification construction experience with a minimum of one new build "shed" in retail/logistics environment in the UK. Construction experience at the customer’s side (as opposed to the contractor) is considered an advantage.
