Overview
A leading defence and critical infrastructure business require a Category Specialist to handle procurement across a range of indirect categories. Applicants need experience in indirect, services or category management focused procurement. The Category Specialist will join an experienced, growing and high-performing team. The Category Specialist will be responsible for delivering cost savings, and process efficiencies across a range of indirect services (Travel, HR, Marketing, Fleet, FM, IT etc.) Analysing indirect procurement spend to identify value creation opportunities, is also an important element of the role. To succeed, the Category Specialist will need to develop strong relationships with a global stakeholder community. Specific duties of the Category Specialist: Producing and supporting the execution of category management plans across indirect spends Liaison with key stakeholders - understand their needs, to help drive procurement strategy Managing indirect procurement sub-categories, cradle-to-grave Analyse procurement department spend across indirect Identify opportunities to deliver cost saving and improve procurement processes Manage and monitor supplier performance Category Specialist applicants should meet the following criteria: Indirect (professional services, FM, IT, Fleet etc.) or services procurement experience An understanding of category management and supplier relationship management techniques Experience of managing/leading procurement projects Excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement skills The ability to assess and improve procurement processes Barclay Meade acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers and is part of Gattaca Plc.
