About our client We are working with one of the UK’s leading children’s charities, established for over 150 years, helping children across England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland from all backgrounds and needs. About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Children's Services leader to help shape and support our client’s regional strategy to work with even more vulnerable children and young people over the coming years. You will be based in Swindon and working in the Wiltshire & Dorset locality, where our client is a key stakeholder and have a strong history. We are looking for an individual who is willing to get fully involved in supporting staff to deliver potential growth opportunities alongside playing an intrinsic part within the regional Senior Management Team to deliver a very ambitious development programme. We are looking for someone with great interpersonal skills combined with excellent leadership and management capacity, with a passion to improve the lives of our most vulnerable children and young people - is this you? Education/Knowledge: Specialist/professional knowledge of business management. Detailed working knowledge of the social care sector. A relevant qualification in social care work or a depth of experience of working within a child protection framework and a clear understanding of child protection statutory systems. You will have demonstrable experience of: Undertaking a senior management role in a social care setting. Developing, winning and implementation of new business (including negotiation of contracts). Developing and leading high performing teams. Ensuring robust systems of monitoring and quality assurance are in place and met. What you will bring to the role: Experience of working in a complex multi-disciplined organisation. A professional or managerial background with demonstrable experience of dealing with complex issues e.g. people management, contract negotiation, managing change and financial management, case management. An ability to achieve positive results within a multi-matrix environment. Track record of delivering continuous improvement to achieve exceptional results. Your circumstances: Flexibility in working hours and location, as per contract of employment. Able to travel to a number of locations and to attend meetings and events outside of normal working hours if required.
