Overview
Job Purpose Assist Audit Seniors on statutory audits. As you gain more experience, you may be asked to lead you own audits with associate(s) reporting to you. You may also be involved in ad hoc project work. Facts & Figures You will be part of a team that contributes to circa £1.6 million of revenue through audit and accounts work for around 250 clients. You will work in a team of approximately 35 staff. Principle Accountabilities Prepare and complete sections on audit files, and clear all review points allotted to you On audits you are leading, you will draft the year end statutory financial statements and Audit Findings Report On audits you are leading, you will support and offer on the job training to your associate(s), as well as review their work Report to the Audit Senior or to the Audit Manager if you are leading the job Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships Assist a team on ad hoc assignments Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience Clean driving licence Be training towards an ACA/ CA / ACCA qualification Be aware of Professional Ethics at all times Understand the Motor Trade, the issues it faces, and specific accounting policies (e.g. consignment stock) Understand what services ASE offers the motor trade Good communication skills (verbal and written) Good interpersonal skills Speak up when you do not understand anything or if you need more time to complete a task Self-belief and the ability to complete a task in challenging situations Self-control in difficult or challenging circumstances Apply your accumulated knowledge to successive assignments Strong technical knowledge (Auditing Standards, FRS102 etc.) and investigative skills (e.g. analytical review) The ability to work on your own initiative A keen eye for detail A willingness to travel nationally and (sometimes) internationally Decision Making You will evaluate variances/differences in your tests and obtain explanations for them and substantiate them You will identify the most appropriate client staff to provide explanations for these findings You will question these people constructively, pursuing all and only those matters which require further explanation You will draw up management letter points and adjustments (actual and potential) which you think should be brought to the attention of the client On jobs you lead, you will prepare the planning section, establishing audit risks, materiality, job budget etc. On jobs you lead, you will direct and review the work of your team On jobs you lead, you will ensure all necessary accounts disclosures have been made On ad hoc projects you will be responsible for identifying issues to be communicated to the client
