We’re Penelope ( www.wearepenelope.co.uk ). We provide IT support and services to charities and social enterprises across London from our offices in Bethnal Green. We’re a small friendly team (currently 10) and we’re growing so we’re looking for someone to join us at an exciting time. About the role We have an exciting and challenging role as a 3rd Line Infrastructure & Systems Engineer. We are looking for a capable and experienced problem-solver who likes technical challenges. You’ll have experience in deploying Microsoft networks in on-premise and virtualised or ideally Azure environments. The right candidate will have a strong background in support at all levels and enjoy the discipline and satisfaction that comes from nicely considered and well maintained systems. You will also hopefully be good at communicating your ideas and coming up with clever and long-lasting solutions – there will be element of systems architecture to the role and it will be something you can get as much exposure to you as would like. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as you will be instrumental in helping us grow Penelope. Essential requirements Good customer service skills At least eight years systems experience Excellent problem solving skills with a proactive attitude Excellent organisational and time management skills - multitasking is a must Excellent attention to detail Exchange 2010 – 2016 Microsoft Windows Server 2012 – 2016 Domain services, Group policy, Active Directory Microsoft Windows Server and Services (ie Failover Clustering, File/Print Services, DHCP etc.) Good scripting abilities esp Powershell Azure & Office 365 deployments, SharePoint Online Good working knowledge of major networking components, to include networking operating systems, basic configuration and maintenance, Switches, Router, Load Balancers and Firewalls etc Networking skills - WiFi, TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN etc Troubleshooting, managing and deploying Hyper-V or VMWare Experience of system migrations, system recovery and security Understanding of Microsoft Windows 7 – 10 operating systems The right to work in the UK Highly desirable Experience with Cisco firewalls and other networking equipment Experience migrating systems to the Cloud (Office 365 & Google) VPN / Remote users / Site to site support Some experience supervising colleagues Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent advanced studies / training At least seven years in an IT support environment A certified MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) and ideally working towards further Microsoft qualifications (eg.
