The Role The role is responsible for supporting the Compliance team with regulatory queries, completing research into new and/or planned changes to regulation and assisting Compliance Managers with ongoing projects and general day-to-day Compliance duties. The role will also involve undertaking a number of varied administrative functions including maintenance of trackers and monthly report preparation. The Risk and Compliance function is viewed as integral to the success of the business. It is recognised that an effective risk and compliance function provides important assurance to those who manage the Corporate Governance of the firm, and contributes towards continual improvement as well as compliance with the requirements of the FCA regulator and other legislation. The role is based at the Head Office, Bourne End with visits to branches when necessary. Key Responsibilities Update and maintain company policies and ensure reviews completed within agreed timeframes Assist with and/or draft compliance reports to Board and key governance committees Assist with review and sign-off for relevant documents and processes, including all financial promotions Assist Marketing with Broker due diligence Horizon Scanning - communicate relevant regulatory changes to key stakeholders, notify affected business functions where changes are required or recommended and maintain a tracker. Identify, assess, challenge, escalate and monitor Regulatory Risks faced by the business, and provide advice to support new initiatives and existing business processes and products. Update and maintain regulatory contact logs Consumer Documentation – update and develop/improve in line with regulation Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders within the business. Support Compliance Managers with design and delivery of compliance training and communications Collate and input data required for monthly Conduct Risk Dashboard Qualifications and Experience Law, Compliance or Business Studies Graduate or 12 24 months junior in a compliance role, preferably in a financial servicese or finance related sector Ideally educated to degree level or appropriate qualification (ICA) Knowledge and experience of regulatory compliance including FCA handbook and the relevant legal framework. Experience of the financial services industry- preferably in consumer credit Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word essential Excellent oral and written communication skills and personal presentation skills, with ability to deal with the challenges arising from internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
