We have a great opportunity for a Support Worker to work on a one-to-one basis with a lady in her own Newmarket home. By helping her with the everyday challenges that most people take for granted you will enable her to live independently and enjoy life. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, energetic, flexible and above all reliable. Whilst full training is given, experience of working with people with a learning and/or physical disability would be advantageous. You should be able to drive the lady's vehicle for trips out, shopping and appointments, plus the occasional short break holiday. The role involves daytime shifts, including weekends, plus some sleep-ins. A typical shift pattern is from 3.30pm right through to 9am the following day, including a sleep-in. Working on a rota basis with other colleagues, every effort would be made to allow for alternate weekends off. Whilst most of your time will be spent working 1-1, you would be very much a part of a team and will regularly join colleagues for trips out in the community.
