Overview

Support Worker (Nights) We are currently recruiting for one of the UK's leading providers of Specialist Education and Care services for children and young people. My client is looking for Night support workers to work in their supported living and learning environment for young adults who have severe and profound learning difficulties, This is one of the few services in the country that is also able to support those with complex health needs and associated difficulties. My Client provides a transitional opportunity for individuals to move from education into adulthood with a focus on person-centred programmes to promote independence. They work with people with multiple disabilities who may have sensory and physical impairments who benefit from our specialist facilities that have been designed to meet their needs As Support Worker you will ideally have: Willingness to work towards achieving Level 3 Diploma HSC (Fully funded). Willingness to learn and to go the extra mile Exceptional communication skills and patience Resilient with a robust and positive nature Ability to be creative in meeting the needs of the young adults Ability to work on a rota pattern which will include working every other weekend Details: Salary: £20,475 - £22,400 Location: Meldreth, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border - Nr. Royston Duration: Permanent Role of a Support Worker: This is a waking night position; so, in the quiet periods you will also be expected to get involved in some light housekeeping duties (such as loading the dishwasher, laundry and keeping the environment tidy). In the morning you’ll then assist with supporting our young adults to get up, washed and dressed, ready for the day. The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our young adults to become more autonomous.
