Mechatronics Engineer Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 5% Matched Pension Bupa Healthcare Medicash Scheme 3x Life Assurance Share Options 25 Days Holiday 8 Bank Holidays Opportunity to work for an exciting & high growth technology company Location: Office based in County Durham with occasional travel in the UK & Internationally The Requirements of the Mechatronics Engineer: To be considered for this position you will already have 2 years’ experience as a Mechatronics Engineer, Robotics Engineer, Automation Engineer, Project Engineer or very similar role in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Industrial Automation, Laboratory Automation, Medical Devices, Chemical, Automotive or similar technical industry Experience in Microfluidics, MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems), LOC (Lab-on-chip) is a distinct advantage You will be educated to degree level in a Mechatronics/Robotics based degree or closely related engineering subject Hands-on experience with complex autonomous software controlled electro-mechanical systems Experience working with Solidworks is essential Able to write clear documentation to required standards Ability to problem-solving, critical thinking and a can-do attitude You must hold a full clean UK Driving License & valid UK passport and be able to travel nationally & internationally when required The Role of the Mechatronics Engineer: Oversee the work of existing and future sub-contractors in accordance with project requirements Design engineering systems for the automation of biological processes Create mechanical design documents for complex software-controlled electromechanical systems Maintain technical project files Create software design schematics and workflows Analyse existing development or manufacturing procedures and suggest improvements Implement and test design solutions Identify and select materials appropriate for biological mechatronic system designs Create mechanical models and tolerance analyses to simulate mechatronic design concepts Upgrade the design of existing methodologies by adding mechatronic elements Design advanced precision equipment for accurate or controlled applications Publish engineering reports documenting design details or qualification test results Research, select or apply sensors, communication technologies, or control devices for motion control, position sensing, pressure sensing, or electronic communication Design, develop, or implement control circuits or algorithms for electromechanical or pneumatic devices or systems Conduct studies to determine the feasibility, costs, or performance benefits of new mechatronic equipment Design, develop and apply self-monitoring electronic, mechanical, or computerized processes to perform tasks in autonomous microfluidics and detect and prevent failures Monitor or calibrate automated systems, precision control systems, or system components to maximize the efficiency of processes The Company: My client is a dynamic & fast growing company offering a wide range of high tech, market leading products for use in a variety of applications & industries, including Nucleaur Detection, Medical Imaging & Security Screening to name just a few Originally a UK based company they are very well established & highly respected and they have been able to extend their operations globally, and now employ in excess of 100 people from the UK & American offices R&D and Innovation is at the heart of what they do, with software development being a key component of the company’s offering as part of the systems and solutions they offer to customers across diverse industry sectors My client prides itself on the quality of its people, employing a depth of scientific and engineering expertise allowing the company to maintain and extend its product portfolio and market presence
