IT Infrastructure Engineer Altrincham, South Manchester £30,000 to £35,000 per year The Opportunity: We are looking for a professional and pro-active IT Engineer with experience of a range of 1 st to 3 rd line incidents and issues to join our client’s internally-focussed IT infrastructure team. You will provide hands-on support to business critical IT systems, resolving tickets from desktop, server, networking or application issues as they arise. Your current role may not be giving you the exposure to the technologies, or the variety of work you’d like or the challenges you want in your career – please read on as this could be the opportunity and role for you You will have the drive and motivation to develop and grow into a role where you will ultimately assume full day-to-day management of their internal corporate systems and infrastructure function, taking on the responsibility for our client’s internal IT Service Desk, following a period of 6-12 months or so of orientation. Skills and Experience: Industry qualified (Microsoft, ITIL, etc.) or degree educated in a technical, computing or science related field IT service desk experience, handling 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line issues An understanding of ITIL Service Management disciplines and methodology Knowledge of the set-up and maintenance of windows server environments Familiar with infrastructure virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix etc.) A Microsoft certification would be desirable (MCSA/MCSE/MCTS/MCITP) Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) Basic networking knowledge (IP, Routers, Firewalls) The ability to lead, coach and mentor junior team members as and when required Applications: To learn more about our client and their ongoing success story, along with specific details on this opportunity to join their respected internal IT Infrastructure Services team based in Altrincham, South Manchester; please call and speak with James Sample here at ISR Recruitment in our Manchester offices on 0161 973 2533 or please email me a copy of your very latest CV and/or online profile for an immediate call back.
