Overview
VTS Officer Location: Dover Salary: Depending on Experience Are you wanting to make a difference at one of Europe's busiest transport hubs? We require a passionate individual who has great analytical and technical aptitudes to help ensure the safety of all our shipping movements throughout the Port of Dover and within the Port's jurisdiction. The VTS Officer Role Ensuring the safety of navigation and the protection of the environment within the limits of the Port of Dover in accordance with the requirements of the Port Marine Safety Code. You will monitor and regulate the movement of all vessels within the port and to advise masters/pilots of passing vessels or other movements during their passage. Also allocating berths to vessels entering or manoeuvring within the port in accordance with schedules where pre-planned. Requirements for the VTS Officer Role Minimum of 5 x GCSE's (or equivalent) at Grades 9 to 4, to include Maths and English STCW Officer of the Watch or higher or relevant professional qualifications in a comparable industry Previous experience within VTS or comparable industry or Officer of the Watch as defined by STCW Be confident & calm under pressure in a shipping movements safety critical environment Being able to work shifts and overtime when required Must be able to attend call outs in an emergency Benefits for the VTS Officer Role Competitive salary 23 days holiday Generous contributory pension scheme Discretionary bonus scheme Free parking Experience working within a diverse environment If you feel you are suitable for our VTS Officer position, please apply now.
