Overview
A fairly unique opportunity has arisen for a Data Protection Specialist to join an award-winning, cutting-edge firm in Leeds. Working in a rapidly growing and dynamic area of law you will act as a key member of the firms Crisis Management Team, providing rapid data breach and cyber-attack support to clients. There is plenty of opportunity to spend time on site with the clients and also working directly from their offices. As a Data Protection Specialist your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Providing GDPR, DPA, e-Privacy consultancy Provide Data Protection training Assisting solicitors and counsel to prepare court cases Managing data subject access and freedom on information requests Advising on and undertaking data-related risk assessments Whilst it wold be ideal if you also had some cyber security experience this is not critical, the data protection is experience is. They are really quite open as to where you may have gained your experience and whilst it could be from within a law firm is Iikely that you would also have spent some time in industry or with a consultancy as they are keen to recruit someone who is practical and results orientated rather than just someone who can quote the law. Ideally you will hold a recognised data protection/ information governance qualification and at least 3 years practical experience. This is a full-time permanent role and a great opportunity to develop your career in all aspects of information law within a team and firm that are growing.
