Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to help end rough sleeping and homelessness inthis North London Authority by playing a key role in the management and service delivery of our Somewhere Safe to Stay (SSTS) Hub. The Local Authority opened their 20 bed space Winter Night Shelter last November for rough sleepers with low to medium support needs . We have ambitious plans to develop our shelter into a year round 24 hour Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub. We aim to give rough sleepers somewhere safe to stay and work with them to give them the support they need to end their rough sleeping. You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of our the hub. You will play a significant role in the operational planning of the service and in leading, supporting, motivating and managing a team of nine high performing staff. Our hub is currently open from 17.00 pm to 9.00 am, but you will play a significant role in developing the service into a 24 hour SSTS Hub. Working in partnership with other local authority teams, accommodation services, statutory and voluntary agencies, you will ensure that vulnerable or homeless people who visit the Hub are moved on from the service into the appropriate accommodation with the correct support in place. You will ensure that rough sleepers’ support needs are comprehensively assessed. You will work in partnership with other agencies to ensure that personalised support plans are put in place and regularly reviewed, to help rough sleepers to meet their support needs and find suitable long term accommodation with appropriate support. You will draw up, regularly review, modify where appropriate, and implement workable staff rotas that ensure sufficient staff cover for the Hub at all times.
