Overview

DATA ENGINEER Our client, a leading, international insurance firm, is looking to hire an entry level Data Engineer to join their brand new Data Engineering division. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to expand their knowledge of different data technologies and explore new and exciting capabilities. The key tasks for this role: integration of data from source systems, other internal datasets and external data sources. responsibility for building ETL pipelines, constructing domain warehouses and the Enterprise Data Warehouse working closely with the Information Data Governance team, instilling best practice. Other key customers include: data scientists and Business Intelligence teams. Person spec: You will be a recent graduate to a degree level or MSc in numerate or scientific discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Informatics Information Systems, Physics, Actuarial etc), as well as the following: Natural affinity to numbers, analysis and creative problem solving High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to simplify problems into component parts and deal with them systematically Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools Proficient in the extraction of data from SQL servers. Skilled in some programming languages, like Python or R. Experience of Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
