Supply Chain Specialist - Logistics & Distribution – Pharmaceuticals Livingston Highly varied role for an experienced Supply Chain Specialist (Logistics & Distribution) with a track record gained within a regulated Biotech / Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. GMP environment. Cold Supply Chain. GMP experience beneficial. This is a superb opportunity to join a dynamic Biotech organisation during an exciting period of growth and expansion. You will be key liaison between the company and 3PL ensuring visibility of shipping activities and longer term forecasting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing data for European and international shipments and provide support for every step of the transportation process. Working with customer agents, warehouse staff, transportation companies and clients. Responsible for shipping, receiving and record keeping for all European and international transactions, ensuring all documentation adheres to import-export policies and laws. Key responsibilities will include – Ensuring imports/exports are correctly logged with Customs through 3PL Preparation of all customs & excise documentation as required. Coordinating the delivery & shipment of customer orders to destinations globally Managing any delivery issues that arise and ensuring all queries are fully resolved Liaising between suppliers, freight forwarders and agents to obtain up to date shipment information Liaise with order management for delivery follow up To create ‘what if’ scenarios based upon operational and customer requirements to maintain capacity analysis tools and use these tools to help manage resource and capital more effectively. Support in developing and implementing key quality performance indicators with Supply Chain teams Effective management of deviations, CAPA and change controls Provide support to the department and contribute to an environment of energy, enthusiasm, empowerment and motivation Execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule Managing the import and export of goods through 3PL Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low Manage and plan logistics and central Warehousing for new 3PL & Warehousing, ensuring effective business relationships are maintained and translate into required level of service and best practice obtained Develop and formalise strategic business partnerships with appropriate 3PL & warehousing based on risk and commercial opportunity. Represent the Company at high level management reviews with these suppliers and report out to Company management Ensure all contracts are in place including - Quality Agreements, SLA’s and CDA’s Ensure project plans are in place, detailing audits, Quality Agreements, SLA & MDA for all distribution, Logistics and Warehousing Co-ordinate with key internal stakeholders to prepare and lead negotiations with critical suppliers. Deliver quantitative cost, quality and service improvement as a result of negotiation Develop and maintain delivery plans, working with Central Warehousing to manage customer delivery expectations Transport Validation for Finished Goods and support Validation team where required. Work closely with internal stakeholders, QA & QP for release of finished Goods for shipment Support the planning function when required The successful candidate will be / will have - Relevant cross functional work experience in a regulated industry (FDA, EMEA etc) Strong knowledge of quality management systems and GDP Good knowledge of creating and writing SOP and related documents Understand the role of the freight forwarder Experience gained within a complex supply chain to highlight and mitigate areas of risk Supply Chain/Logistics qualifications preferred although sound experience within import/export role is more important Knowledge of legal requirement relating to importing and exporting goods Ability to work well on own initiative and under pressure and be able to think ‘outside the box’ as well as being able to work well with others Understanding of transportation limitations, regulations and issues In return you will be offered a competitive salary and highly attractive benefits package including bonus and private health care.
