Overview
Senior Care Assistant - night shifts - immediate start N20 Positions for 2 nights (24 hours), 3 nights (36 hours) or 4 nights (48 hours) per week. Please tell us your preference at interview. Ventry Care is recruiting Senior Care Assistants to our 56 bed residential care home in Whetstone N20 9AH. We care for older persons / older persons living with dementia. THE ROLE To organise and lead your staff team on the night shift to ensure the care needs of our service users are met: helping residents get ready and into bed/settle down for the night, and assisting them in the morning providing a high standard of care overnight, including medication administration, hygiene, continence, mobility, dressing and general care carrying out regular checks on residents and the building, and assisting residents with any care needs that arise answering emergency bells or calls from residents immediately, and seeking further assistance if necessary completing basic domestic duties, e.g. dusting and hoovering, cleaning of bathrooms, preparing of tables for breakfast, etc dealing with any health care professionals involved during your shift, e.g. out of hours doctors / paramedics getting your manager up to speed with residents needs and progress at handover being a team player, following guidelines and policies, and having good written and IT skills to support residents care plans (we use care management software and smartphone / tablet hardware) making all the residents you care for feel safe, comfortable and secure. In other words, you will make them feel right at home. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU? Pay rates start at £11.00 per hour (circa £20,500.00 per annum based on 36 hour week) and increasing depending on your experience and qualifications. Paid holiday to 28 days, and workplace pension option. Paid mandatory training, and the opportunity of ongoing specialist training (e.g. dementia / diabetes / catheter care / end of life care etc) to ensure you can professionally develop yourself, and meet the care needs of this service user group. £250.00 annual retention bonus / unlimited £250.00 refer a friend scheme. You will have experience working with older people in residential care, you are willing to learn, are flexible, patient, caring, organised, enthusiastic, and great with people. You will have completed your QCF 1-5 (equivalent NVQ 2 or 3 in Care). You will need to be flexible to work shifts on a rota basis. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO?
