Overview

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit a Head of Testing for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £500-600/day (inside of IR35). This role will be remote based. Responsibilities: • Provide Test leadership and expertise to the organisation's Test Team and wider Project Teams. • Act as a point of escalation for the test team and manage project risks with stakeholders • Support the projects by making sure they have access to the relevant resources and test tools. • Review test standards and procedure to optimise test delivery. • Engage with external supplier(s) to ensure compliance with the Programme Test Strategy • Be accountable for all Test Artefacts and activities across the Census Programme; System Test, SIT, UAT, NFT & ORT. Requirements: • Ability to design and execute a wide range of testing techniques for functional testing and clearly communicate to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Ability to lead investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes and create recommendations. • Able to design and execute for standard non-functional testing. • Ability to manage the internal organisation's Test Team and third party suppliers test team. Desirable Skills: • A working knowledge of Relational Databases (MS-SQL, Oracle) and SAS would be highly beneficial. • A working knowledge JIRA and Test Management Tools such as ALM, JIRA Add-Ons. • A working knowledge of non-functional test tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, Winrunner etc.) would be highly beneficial.
