Procurement Manager

Our Public Sector Client is currently looking to recruit a 2 X Procurement manager on an initial 6 month contract. (One with adults and one with children’s expertise). · Procurement Manager · Luton – 6 months initially · £400 - £450 inside IR35 Our client has a backlog of work so looking for the successful procurement manager to hit the ground running and be responsible for looking at end to end procurement. The Successful Procurement manager will be responsible for the managed Contracts within the People Directorate. The role will involve managing end-to-end procurement projects and existing contracts and implementing proactive cost reduction, negotiations and process efficiency programmes to deliver savings targets and enhanced service provisions for our client. You will provide best practice procurement advice and challenge within each project assigned, driving incremental value from effective processes. The ideal Procurement Manager will : Have public sector/local authority procurement experience Have strong interpersonal skills Have a track record of engaging on a range of categories such as Adults / Children’s etc. Candidates must have experience in leading the end to end public sector tendering process and delivering cost savings. Have strong market knowledge Experience in sourcing new strategic suppliers within the public sector Able to prioritise projects by risk and complexity and provide justification Have very clear understanding of the regulations (PCR2015) and how to apply them in daily tasks This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established organisation with potential for long term contract extensions.
