My client is an industry renowned design and manufacturer of complex electromechanical products. With then industrial manufacturing sector undergoing huge change in Britain – Industry 4.0, AI and various options of automation – there are new roles being released all the time I am excited to advertise this particular role - a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to use their knowledge, skillset and capability and give back by training and developing the operator’s skillset My client is looking for a Manufacturing Trainer to join their site in the Thames Valley area to oversee the training and development of the sites operational work force. This will involve you training them directly using your knowledge and skillset and will also involve you overseeing the training delivered by senior engineers / team leaders or by 3 rd party suppliers as required. The following responsibilities are a basic overview of the roles content – · Assess training requirements for new and existing staff · Identify internal and external training programs to address gaps · Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and understanding and subsequently deliver training improvements. · Organise, develop or source training programs · Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks · Ensure Standards are aligned to industry standard pertaining to hard and soft soldering, welding and fabrication. · Map out training plans for individual employees · Present training programs using recognised training techniques and tools · Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, on-the-job coaching · Track and report on training outcomes · Provide feedback to program participants and management · Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology · Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment · Coordinate off-site training activities for employees · Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment · Keep current on training design and methodology The following KPI’s are what will be measured to review the performance of the staff and uncover where training improvements are required. · Product build quality – KPI Defect per unit · Manufacturing Efficiency – KPI Overall Labour Efficiency · Skills Matrix – KPI Total skills score · NPI Delivery to Manufacturing To be considered for the Manufacturing Trainer role at my clients Thames valley site the candidate must present evidence of the following – · This is genuinely a great role for someone who has been involved with manufacturing over an extensive period and wants to give something back. It will also be a great role for an established trainer of manufacturing processes including soldering · BSc Hons, HNC or Industry equivalent knowledge in a technical / production discipline · A track record of having worked or still working in a manufacturing environment where soldering is used as part of the manufacturing process · Good understanding and working knowledge of Lean principles and 6 Sigma · Demonstrable · A track record of implementing best practice manufacturing techniques · Proven ability to communicate in various ways to enable learning and deliver outcomes · A proven track record of delivering training to operators who solder as their main activity will be a distinct advantage · The desire to coach, mentor and develop individuals to help them improve their performance and their own ability is essential for this role
