Overview
Westminster City Council are embarking on a major transformation of the procurement and commercial management function. Over twenty-five requirements have been identified and an exciting large-scale recruitment campaign has been launched involving specialist recruitment teams from Insight Executive Group and Allen Lane. The role advertised below will be integral to the transformation and will play a vital part in re-envisioning Westminster as a City for All. The roles Join us, and you will help to improve the lives of those that live in, work in and visit our city. As a Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll be part of the Procurement Services Management Team, working collaboratively with colleagues in the department, across the council and with partners to achieve better commercial outcomes. Every day will present new and exciting challenges, as you take ownership of the commercial and procurement needs of your business area, seeing to it that all aspects of the service are successfully delivered. As the voice of the customer, you’ll be bold in imagining how things could be done better, using expert market knowledge to provide outstanding advice to senior stakeholders and exploring innovative new models of service delivery. Role are available across the following business areas: Adults, Children’s and Public Health City Management and Communities Growth, Planning and Housing Your background This is a strategic role working alongside senior stakeholders, including acting as a trusted adviser to Executive Directors and Elected Members. You’ll be a dynamic individual with a track record of achieving better outcomes through innovative commercial practices. A strong customer ethos and outstanding stakeholder management skills are essential, as you help shape the ambitions of your business area into a strategic programme of commercial activity. Sharp commercial acumen is a must, and you might not come from a traditional procurement background. This role is about much more than managing a process - we’re leading the way on many aspects of social value, the living wage and ethical supply chains.
