Overview
Data Architect - Brighton - 6 month project - Circa £600-700 per day SearchDATA Group is currently recruiting a Financial Services Data Architect to work on a regulatory reporting engagement with a client based in Brighton. The platform is AWS, so experience of working on this platform along with exposure to working in an IFRS17 environment or similar regulatory/financial services environment is essential. The Role Working alongside data analysts, business analysts, design leads, PMs, SMEs from actuarial, accounting and external consultants, the consultant will need to take ownership of the data requirements/contracts, review of data requirements with source admin systems providers, ETL component and the creation/maintenance of data catalogues (data dictionary updates, data architecture maps, data design, data lineage, audit trail etc.) You will be expected to quickly understand the current system architecture, the roadmap to deliver changes in the systems architecture, assessment of the impact of changes to the data landscape, high and detailed level design of the data process requirement. Key Responsibilities: Ability to translate data strategy/requirements into an operational plan to enable sound use of data to meet the designed solutions Deliver data requirements demonstrating data accuracy, data integrity, auditability of data, integration of source data into downstream process and systems; this is critical to the success of IFRS17 programme Work with business and technology stakeholders to translate data requirement into data process designs through iterative processes to align with programme objectives and requirements Log, analyse and manage problems in order to identify and implement the appropriate solution. Ensure the ownership of the problem Work collaboratively with technical SMEs, extracting their technical knowledge into process diagrams and documentation Manage and mentor data analyst(s) so they can represent you if required, get involved in details when required. Key Skills: IFRS17 project experience (highly desirable) or similar regulatory/financial services project with proven experience of data architecture role Strong understanding of the concepts and principles of data architectures, data design, best practices, and data integration Experience in working with different data store (source systems, data lakes/warehouses) and different data processing technologies to be able to perform fit for purpose ETL Good experience of driving and documenting the impact on data architecture due to process re-design (ideally in finance/actuarial/accounting) Expert with Visio/Power point/Excel Evidence that you have a structured approach and methodology for the delivery of projects, strong delivery focus coupled with the ability to deliver pragmatic business solutions. Evidence of your ability to integrate solutions within existing and potentially changing IT infrastructure provided by third party suppliers Able to document As-is architectures and define target architecture The credibility to interface with the business at a senior level.
