Overview

Orka Financial is currently recruiting for a technology business in Basingstoke that requires an Assistant Management Accountant for a 6 month contract. Key Responsibilities: Head Office Cost Control  Preparation of monthly management accounts on a timely basis including accruals and prepayments  Financial analysis, insights and trending  Variance analysis and commentary  Monthly cost review meetings with all Head Office Functions  Monthly presentation of Head Office KPI’s and other financial information to the Finance Director & Financial Controller  Carry out relevant ad hoc Head Office financial analysis and report to the Finance Director / Financial Controller as appropriate  Responsible for all Head Office cost centre planning and forecasting accounting activities  Balance Sheet reconciliations for Head Office  Design and maintenance of annual planning and reforecasting models for Head Office  Analysis and interpretation of central costs and recharges Head Office Cost Allocations  Collation of all Head Office allocation keys  Tracking of IT costs and services on a monthly basis  Preparation of monthly cost allocation reports  Monthly cost allocation review meetings with all Head Office Functions  Monthly presentation of Head Office Cost Allocations to the Finance Director & Financial Controller  Responsibility for Head Office cost allocation planning and forecasting accounting activities  Take personal ownership for own development and career planning, developing required skills, tools and techniques in order to continually add value to the organisation.  The main duties detailed are not exhaustive. You will be asked to carry out other tasks, when necessary, to provide support and cover to meet the needs of the business, which will ensure the efficient and smooth running of the finance function. Key Skills and Experience:  2 years experience in management accounting  Good understanding of management accounting and reporting principles  Good understanding of planning and forecasting techniques  Working knowledge of financial systems (e.g. SAP, Excel, Access)  Analytical thinking  Attention to detail  Excellent PC skills  Time management  Structured approach This role is to start immediately but candidates on 1 week's notice will also be considered.
