Gas Sel Assembly Technician
Overview
Job Description We are looking to hire an excellent Gas Seal Test Senior Operative to join our team in Slough. You ensure that all test activities are carried out in accordance with the company HSE, quality and productivity standards. You will also be responsible for the planning and scheduling of work as well as driving improvements to ensure an excellent service is provided to our customers. Duties and Responsibilities Plan/distribute workload including urgent requests, break downs or fast turnaround refurbishments Ensure team members are fully trained, ensure good communication / motivation practices & adherence to Health & Safety regulations PC and recording activities which include test schedule, SAP, test equipment database Schedule the workload and co-ordinate actions within the test area Lead Continuous Improvement projects for the test area and deliver daily SPQCD update to technicians Check and verify test specifications for upcoming tests on the schedule Setup and install seals for test including seal removal and cell strip down Run tests and be the first point of contact to resolve any technical issues regarding testing or test rig Co-ordinate what test equipment is needed with relevant team members. This includes the maintenance and storage of test equipment Support reviews of procedures within the test bay including risk assessments. Implement best practice processes within the area. Carry out/monitor the 5S audits and drive completion of actions Required Skills and Experience Previous experience in supervising/leading a team Excellent communication skills Apprenticeship trained Assembly/test experience, understands work instructions and technical drawings Good IT skills Experience of using and implementing Continuous Improvement tools About Us Smiths is always looking for curious minds.
