Quality Assurance Precision Engineering Full Time Permanent Nr Fareham, Hampshire Pay £25000 - £38000, dependant on experience Hours 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday 7.00-7.30am start - 4.00-4.30pm finish Overtime paid at x 1.5 rate Company Are you seeking a new challenge with a growing and desirable business in the precision engineering sector? Role The opportunity available is for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a Precision Engineering business close to Fareham, Hampshire. The purpose of the role is:- To ensure that all products meet customer required standards As part of the management team, to maintain and develop the quality system with the aim of ensuring best possible practise To maintain accurate records to aid continuous improvement and to demonstrate effective control of quality Skills Required are:- Conversant with all relevant BS/ISO documentation Proven experience of QA/Inspection work within a subcontract environment Good communication skills, both verbal and written Sound numeracy skills Interpret a drawing and understand all drawing symbols with reference materials Quality engineer a component by defining which dimensions to check and set the necessary frequencies, thereby maintaining a satisfactory and acceptable quality level and produce supporting documentation Use all equipment in the quality department competently Understand quality concepts, including SPC and MMC and perform any necessary calculations Understand and demonstrate calibration techniques Maintain all quality related documentation Duties will include:- Maintain an acceptable level of quality for all of the Company's production by physical and mechanical inspection of components, both first off and final Define which dimensions are critical for each production batch to maintain a satisfactory and acceptable quality level Set the necessary inspection frequencies for each production batch to maintain a satisfactory and acceptable quality level Monitor and select samples from a production batch for inspection or testing Carry out inspection of samples by observing or measuring dimensions, weight, surface finishes etc. or physical or chemical characteristics against specified requirements Maintain as necessary the calibration of the equipment currently calibrated in-house, ensuring that the measuring and testing equipment is set correctly Keep accurate records of checks performed Monitor and record reject rates by volume and value on a monthly basis Be responsible for ensuring that the Company's Quality Manual procedures are adhered to Amend, update, maintain and audit the Company's quality system For more information please contact Claire at Wild Recruitment, Portsmouth or to apply please upload your C.V. using the link provided.
