London Insurance Broker- Management Accountant- £30,000-£40,000 Your new company A small traditional London insurance broker based in the heart of the city. With two arms of the business marine and non marine they are specialists in their market. In terms of the culture they provide an atmosphere with a family feel. Employees do not work as just a part of one particular function but as a part of the whole business. After a period of long term stability this is the first time in years they have had to recruit in finance. Your new role This is a management accountant position which will involve taking full ownership of the financial reporting of the business. Working closely long side and managing the IBA team: Generation of balance sheet and Profit and Loss data Generation of monthly financial reports such as FCA client money and bank reconciliations. Preparation and review of monthly cash flow report prior to deliver to Financial Controller and Finance Director. Assisting Financial Controller with preparations for annual statutory audit and client money audit. Client account management: managing the credit control and premium allocation of the firm's largest client. Processing of company expenses, office bank reconciliations and journals through Sage. Expenses analysis: preparation of monthly and quarterly variance reports in order to track against budget and previous year's figures. Documenting of internal finance procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulation standards. Preparation and delivery of various training sessions to the wider firm, including on processing and calculating premiums. Line management responsibilities and on-boarding of one junior team member, responsible for legacy unallocated cash. Review of NST/IBA payments/receipts on cashbook. What you'll need to succeed You will need to have previous experience of working within a similar role in an insurance broker. You must have a good knowledge of the insurance market.
