Most of the current development team take an interest in the latest and greatest tech and actively top-up knowledge through blogs, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Many develop personal projects in their spare time to master new libraries or try out new techniques. That’s the kind of people they are: curious, active and aware. Part of your remit will be to develop new products / apps for learning that brings freedom and exploration back into the process of learning and development. What we are looking for: The successful candidate will have: An enthusiasm for app development and web technologies; Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS; Commercial experience developing in frontend and backend environments; Strong JS skills (plus awareness of at least one other language); Experience creating/using RESTful APIs; Understanding of source control systems (e.g. git); You will also already hold the right to work in UK Ideally you will also have: Commercial experience maintaining a SaaS environment; Experience with modern UI frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular); Confidence with the cli and linux; A working knowledge of Typescript; A working knowledge of PHP and PHP frameworks (e.g. Laravel); Experience querying relational databases (e.g. MySQL); Experience with TDD and creating unit tests; Understanding of cross-platform development (mobile vs desktop, browser limitations, etc.); AWS knowledge; A relevant qualification (degree, vocational training, bootcamp, etc.); Understanding of CI/CD processes; Contributions to Open Source software; Understanding of web accessibility guidelines; Experience in the eLearning industry.
