Overview
Our client, a registered charity which supports inclusion, involvement and participation in the science world, is looking to recruit an Interim Head of Grants on a 6 month contract working remotely initially to start as soon as possible. This role will involve working closely with the rest of the team and stakeholders on developing a new programme of grants aimed at enabling people and organisations to participate in and utilise health research to improve the lives of people in the UK. This will entail grants programme design and development, stakeholder engagement, devising a theory of change, setting out the grantee's application journey, helping to a recruit a small team and to manage all governance and compliance criteria. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a similar Senior Grant Making role and will therefore be well acquainted with grants procedures, governance and compliance, monitoring and evaluation and systems design. A good understanding of the charity sector with an insight in to the scientific world would be beneficial (although not essential). This is a superb opportunity to make a mark on this new programme of funding and to create robust systems to ensure the success of this innovative and creative initiative to improve people's lives through science and focussed health research.
