Overview

Transport Operator - Transport Driver clerk is required by a major transport and logistics company to e nsure effective and efficient use of driver and vehicle resources. Ensuring customer requirements are administered in a timely, controlled and recorded manner and l iaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers. ROLE: Transport Operator LOCATION: Coalville HOURS: Monday to Friday 12pm to 10pm, On call one in every 2 Saturdays BASIC SALARY: £20k to £26k BENEFITS: Numerous ROLE: Promote effective and efficient standards of work, in order to comply with transport legislation, company policy and Health & Safety legislation. Promotion and adherence to site policy and procedure. Managing Driver hours, WTD rules. To carry out investigations or incident reports in relation to any vehicle incidents when necessary. Ensure all agency drivers are inducted correctly and Compliance is monitored. Manage tachograph infringements to ensure full compliance. Cross functional interaction (Warehouse/Drivers or Contractors/Customers) Writing and issuing of any driver procedure and site processes EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have transport experience, managing drivers on a shift basis, must have managed drivers and have experience of transport management systems, legislation, laws and managing driver’s hours, WTD, tacho’s etc. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of transport and legislation including WTD and drivers hours. Experience of daily briefings and de-briefings of all drivers, worked with agency drivers.
