Overview
We are currently searching for Signalling Design engineers to come and join Aecom and be based in Swindon. As the Signaling Design Engineer will undertake design activities as required by AECOM management and the client. This includes directing the design team in producing signalling design, production of high-quality design to first principles, provision of technical mentorship, and verification of design produced by members of the design team. Job Duties: Carry out design, design production checking, and independent checking of signaling systems as required Provide functional support and guidance to the Design Engineer(s) within the team on all aspects of signal design within allocated projects Participate in the preparation of technical details, specifications and tenders for signaling projects Monitor the progress of works and ensure that the development, design, construction and testing requirements are met and effect remedial action when required Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved Evaluate the quality and technical accuracy of tenders and make recommendations to obtain the best available commercial award for the company. Specific Skills Required: Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects. Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. Approves and signs off on work. Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts. Presents complex technical solutions to clients. Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others. Participates in development of technical proposals. Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects. Minimum Requirements: Progressive experience in the rail / metro sector Demonstrated experience with CBTC Excellent skills and knowledge of signaling applications, standards, procedures, systems, operations, quality and safety standards Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
