Mechanical Design Engineer
Overview
Job title Design engineer Job description Reporting to the senior design engineer you will be responsible for dealing with the mechanical design of capital machinery What skills, Qualifications & experience are required? • All aspects of design for machines, conceptual and detailed design. • Design in accordance with Machinery Directive. • Undertake Risk Assessments and FMEA. • Organise and attend regular multi-disciplinary design reviews. • Produce required legislative documentation. • Monitoring of budgets and project plans. • Liaison with customers and suppliers. • Generation of ‘Design, Operation and Maintenance’ documentation. • Provide support to Mechanical (build) department with particular emphasis on Start-up and ongoing support of tooling commissioning. • Able to use 2D Autocad • Able to use 3D Autodesk Inventor • Able to use Autodesk Vault for Inventor • Familiar with Nastran FEA analysis • Pneumatics design: • Hydraulics systems familiarity • Design of chilled water circuits • Machine drive sizing of motors, gearboxes, belt and pulley assemblies • Familiarity with web process lines, tension control, roller sizing • Familiarity with the Vacuum coating industry i.e. Sputter coatings, e beam • Familiarity of working for the Automotive supply sectors i.e. fin forming machinery, tube forming machinery, Core assembly machinery • Robotics • Able to travel Hours of work: days Basic Pay: negotiable as the client are more interested in finding the candidates with the right skills (however you can be paid salaried or hourly rate with overtime which ever suits) Duration of the work: permanent Location: Our client is based just off the M65 near Accrington is easily accessible from the motorway and has good public transport links Why should you apply for this role?
