Lead Estimator - Façade and Roofing Systems Job Title: Project Estimator - Façade and Roofing Systems Industry Sector: Architectural Drawings, Facades, Roofing Systems, Building Envelope, Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Contractors Based: West Midlands head office Remuneration: £30,000-£40,000 basic salary & full benefits The role of the Lead Estimator - Façade and Roofing Systems will involve: Overseeing and working alongside a small team of 2 project estimators (one home based) Coaching and mentoring existing office based project estimator Validating contract costs and estimating team workloads Receiving tender enquiries and producing general take-offs to create quotations and estimates using an in-house software package Obtain raw material costs by liaising with suppliers Prepare budget estimates for architects and quantity surveyors Handle telephone enquiries from architects, clients, quantity surveyors and façade and roofing contractors Estimating in support of bids and proposals to be prepared by our client’s sales team who provide façade and roofing systems Preparation and issuing of formal quotations to customers Prioritise own workload to ensure customers’ deadlines are met Provide costing support to projects team on successful bids Occasional visits to customer sites (approx. bi-monthly) The ideal applicant will be a Lead Estimator - Façade and Roofing Systems with: 5 years’ experience as a project estimator within the construction industry Ideally façade, roofing or building envelope related experience Ability to read architectural drawings Hit the ground running Gravitas to lead estimating team in the first instance, but also capability to grow the team in the future Man management/ coaching experience is not essential but may be useful Excellent planning and organisational skills Ability to absorb technical aspects of a diverse product range Ideally related qualification in construction, engineering, manufacturing or surveying Ability to manage all elements of estimating and quoting to ensure customer satisfaction Robust, positive outlook and team player The Company: Part of a larger group Circa £50m turnover 100 employees Please contact Paul, Lee or Simon from Mitchell Maguire for an immediate interview.
