Overview

Developer - Docker/Kubernetes - Kafka/Flink - London The successful candidate will be joining the portfolio management development team and will be working on the many different systems we cover. The team works very closely with our business users, there are no BAs / PMs / Testers so it is a great opportunity for someone to come in and learn a lot about the business and finance. The business users are also extremely engaged and supportive of development projects, they are highly intelligent and can often code themselves. This role will really suit someone that enjoys the direct business interaction, is delivery focused and works well under pressure. Location: London Salary: £120,000 base plus bonus with an OTE of £220,000 The successful candidate will have the following skills: (3 years using either Python, Java, C# Scala or C++) Advanced Microsoft SQL Server Development and data analytical skills Experience with cloud, container and micro service infrastructures (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, AWS, GCP). Experience with test driven development and continuous integration Passionate about technology . Thorough understanding of object orientated programming and computing fundamentals Full Development Life Cycle experience Hands on experience with Relational Databases (e.g., SQL Server, Postgres) ,NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, Redis, Neo4j, HBase, Elastic, MongoDB) and cloud-based databases (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, DynamoDB) Ability to deliver all aspects of a project from start to finish unassisted Ability to pick up existing systems and quickly get up to speed Ability to diagnose faults and remedy under time pressure In addition, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: Exceptional communication skills The ability to work without close supervision in a fast-paced and dynamic environment The capacity to deal with ambiguity and change Other beneficial skills or experience: Financial Markets experience primarily Equities and FX trading.
