Senior Microsoft Network Engineer Shepard Bush Salary: Negotiable, £38,000 to £48,000 subject to skills and experience Who are we looking for: We’re looking for an experienced professional with a passion for technology and customer service to join our established technical teams as a Senior Service Desk Engineer. Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment you will be supporting a multitude of client and internal systems and applications, on premise, in our own cloud environment and within public cloud services. This varied role demands excellent technical knowledge and is ideal for someone who is keen to constantly develop their skills, undertake additional accreditation's on a regular basis and gain exposure to a large variety of IT technologies. You will be responsible for supporting the Service Desk team and resolving reactive tickets as they are escalated to you. The role also includes an element of project work, assisting with the design and delivery of infrastructure projects. A determined and resourceful individual, you will enjoy problem solving and be able to think on your feet and find a solution, even when dealing with unfamiliar technologies. You will enjoy taking responsibility and be keen to share your technical knowledge. Due to the nature of the role some of out of hours work will be required at times, so a flexible and can-do approach is vital. Duties of the Network Engineer: The design and implementation of new solutions ensuring to stick to the standards as defined by the company and improving resilience of the current network environment 2nd/3rd line network support for complex incidents and problems Visiting client's sites Creating client execution reports Managing engineer timekeeping and service level targets Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance Undertaking network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies The support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy The configuration of routing, switching and wireless equipment Remote support of on-site engineers Requirements of the Network Engineer: At least 5 years’ experience in a similar, senior technical role within an MSP environment Experience in scope, design and implementation of mid-size (multi-site) windows domains Configuration and support of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems - Server 2008- Server 2016 Configuration and support of Microsoft Windows client operating systems - Windows 8.1 - Windows 10 Microsoft Exchange configuration and troubleshooting - Exchange 2010 - Exchange 2016 Active Directory support and maintenance Office 365 configuration and support Office 365 migrations Configuration and troubleshooting of enterprise grade backup solutions - Cloud and on premise Network configuration and troubleshooting - WAN, LAN and WLAN Firewall and Switches working experience (Juniper knowledge is an advantage) Configuration and troubleshooting of enterprise grade wireless solutions Enterprise grade firewall configuration and troubleshooting Experience of working remotely and from site Microsoft Azure configuration and support including ARM Experience with scripting tools including Windows PowerShell VMWare/Hyper-V configuration and troubleshooting Configuration and troubleshooting of network print solutions Understand and deliver best practice standards Excellent telephone manner Excellent time keeping Smart appearance Attention to detail Outstanding Customer Service Skills Delivering client facing meetings Desired Skills/Experience: Mac OSX knowledge is an advantage Experience of working with Mimecast would be an advantage Juniper Firewall & EX series switches, Microsoft SQL optimization Veeam configuration and troubleshooting Meraki support and configuration experience would be an advantage Network Engineer Benefits: 20 days holiday plus bank holiday Pension Scheme About us: We are a solely United Kingdom owned IT and consulting businesses with representation nationwide.
