Overview
I'm looking for Chartered/Principal Bridge Engineer with highways scheme experience for a large multi-disciplinary consultancy in Manchester. The Principal Engineer will assist in the development of an established bridge highway engineering team. They are looking for candidates with large county council, Highways England or key D&B scheme experience The office is in city centre Manchester and close to all major transport links. You will manage/lead and develop a team of 6 engineers/technicians to deliver key bridge schemes for this client. Schemes can range from £150K footbridge for a county council framework to a £150M Highways England major bridge design scheme. Which will be demanding and require a strong skill set. The main work will be focussed around bridge feasibility studies, new build bridge design, and strengthening/refurbishment design of pre-existing bridges. Be able to mentor/assist in the development of team members. Management, support, and control of interdisciplinary interfaces on behalf of the Bridges team. Liaison with construction contractors to ensure best value delivery within design. Estimating and generation of inputs to tender documentation. Provide or lead in the future strategy and business development of the North of England region offices.
