Overview
Role: Business Relations and Economic Growth Officer Location: Loughborough, LE11 Work pattern: 37 hrs per week, Mon - Fri - 9-5 Contract Type: 6 month temp contract potential for this to be extended further ASAP start Excellent rate of pay. I'm looking for a Business Relations and Economic Growth Officer to join a Regeneration and Economic Development Team. The purpose of the role will be to assist in the delivery of the regeneration and economic development activity including a focus on business intelligence, communication and support. Strong communication skills and the ability to use social media for marketing and content management are key. The successful candidate will need to be able to travel across the borough to attend events and meetings. Flexible working for a day per week is available (depending on business needs), near site parking will be provided. The key duties are: Dealing with inward investment enquires, Marketing Charnwood as a great place to setup business, working with partner organisations to stage events, Working on our current project to launch an online business directory, Managing content on our social media channels. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain an intelligent business profile through regular surveys, communication, promotion and networking with businesses and the assembly and maintenance of the Business Database. Prepare and deliver a multi-event economic development business communication and engagement programme. Prepare and present reports to the relevant Committees on regeneration and economic development matters. Maintain the online Business Directory and regeneration and economic development webpages. Provide advice and support on regeneration and economic development, including general enquiries and more complex issues, by telephone, in correspondence and in person. Identify opportunities for funding to help target business support and regeneration in the delivery of the relevant Corporate Plan objectives Work proactively in partnership with other Council divisions, County Council departments, Town/Parish Councils and other external agencies, particularly the Local Economic Partnership, on matters affecting regeneration and economic development with attendance as necessary at meetings, presentations and exhibitions. Prepare regeneration and economic development evidence to contribute to the positive delivery of regeneration and economic development policies associated with the multi-disciplinary approach to strategic planning and development management. Promote and administrate the economic development and regeneration grant regimes and provide general support and administration to regeneration projects. Prepare and commission research and information necessary to comply with statutory and advisory matters as they relate to economic development. Assist with the preparation of regeneration and economic development monitoring for the Local Plan Annual Monitoring Report. Qualification/Knowledge Degree or Diploma in Regeneration and Economic Development or Similar. Significant relevant regeneration or economic development experience. Practical experience in the delivery of regeneration or economic development activity. Previous experience of the planning process Demonstrate an understanding of major aspects of current legislation and Government advice relevant to regeneration and economic development. Able to write and present clear and concise reports in relation to more complex regeneration and economic development matters. Able to use database and spreadsheet software.
