Overview
Engineering Manager To manage a team of Application Engineers designing lifting and handling equipment for commercial vehicle applications. Main Responsibilities: ? Managing and co-ordinating the Engineering department/ workload ? Defining, measuring and report upon department KPI ? Supporting and implementing the UK strategy ? Supporting training and development on 3D Modelling, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), T/win drawings and Engineering/ Piece part drawings ? Management and development of works instructions ? Technical trouble shooting ? Working with Sales team to deliver customer requirements ? Pricing and cost control within department ? Monitoring and complying with Standards Compliance Advisor, Regs/ standards and other industry bodies/ accreditations Contacts/Working with: ? External - 3rd party installers, Partners, Truck OEM’s and Customers ? Internal - Service Excellence Team, Regional Managers, Sales Managers and Depot staff Education: ? Be qualified to HND or degree level in Mechanical Engineering Experience: ? Ideally circa 10 years’ experience in Commercial Vehicle Application ? Engineering principals – Essential ? Lorry loader/ Crane/ HGV background – preferred not essential Competencies and Skill Set: ? Have experience managing or supervising a team, preferably in an administrative environment ? Have excellent technical knowledge ? Possess good I.T. skills, including MS Office and the SAP ERP System ? Have excellent written and verbal communication skills ? Be confident and comfortable interfacing with other departments and stakeholders ? Be self-motivated, capable of working under pressure, and able to operate with minimal supervision ? Be a good team player, flexible with regards to tasks performed Place of Work and Travels: ?
