Linux Platform Administrator Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 Location: London My client is a specialist in Infrastructure IT, End User Computing and Cloud Technologies and delivers complex end-user and datacentre transformations for large corporate organisations across a variety of sectors including, banking, telecoms, and retail. They are currently expanding their Infrastructure team and are looking for an experienced Linux Platform Administrator to lead the team to maintain, support, install, configuration, and testing of legacy and new Linux operating and system management systems. Responsibilities: Installation, configuration, and testing of Linux operating and system management systems Maintaining Linux system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis and tuning Troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating and system management systems Designing and running Linux system load/stress testing Accomplishes organisation goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Deployment of applications on Linux & Unix environments Provide technical support on application server-related and web applications issues Responding to trouble-tickets via an internal application and/or phone reports The ability to use intelligence, scripting, and tools to manage change from development to testing to production environments Responsible for Management of the Platform. Release Management, QA testing of the platform. Day to Day maintenance activities on the platform Technical Experience: Linux / Unix experience in a Data Centre environment Demonstrable knowledge of DNS, Apache, standard troubleshooting Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Perl etc) Excellent verbal and written skills, along with outstanding customer service skills Strong knowledge of all multi-vendor storage environments Strong knowledge of backup systems Strong Knowledge of Devops Methodology Strong knowledge of Micro Services environment. Good Knowledge of Kubernetes, Ansible setup Good understanding of ITIL Experience in ITSM tools like Service Now, Remedy, IPsoft.
