The Data Owner has primary responsibility for the management and execution of all data migration activities owned by the business, for the sector wide deployment of multiple business systems. This role will manage strategic system investment project/s within the capital portfolio, with investment costs of between £1m - £3m. Key responsibilities? Primary Business resource that will form the day to day bridge between the Business and the various projects for a given set of Data Objects within a functional area/system. Will have deep understanding of the as-is data set, its structure, business rules and how it is maintained in the legacy system(s), as well as how the as-is data supports the current business processes. Will be responsible for Data Discovery; i.e. provide insight into the current data set, where (i.e. in which legacy systems) data is maintained and map legacy data models to the new system data model, provide data volumes, and assist with identifying data gaps (i.e. data required by Unify, but currently not maintained in legacy systems) Will be responsible for the mapping between legacy and new system models of data objects, fields and detailing any transformations that will be required between the two models. Functional consultant support in this activity through mapping workshops facilitated by the various Functional Project Managers. Will be responsible for providing data extracts in a format specified by the various data migration teams. This will include: Liaising with JM IT resources to provide automated extract routines from legacy systems, or The manual collection in pre-defined Data Collection Templates, for data that is not readily available in any legacy system Report status on Data extract/construction activities to the Business Data Lead in a timely manner Will be responsible for legacy data quality to ensure that supplied data is fit for purpose within the various systems.
