Overview

About the Role: The principle purpose of this post is to support the future growth ambitions of the company. It will provide frontline support in both sourcing proprietary products for our global markets and customers and will also identify OEM manufacturers who can take our own designs and IP and manufacture product on our behalf. (Sourcing and commercial management). The role will also be active in helping internal teams/project management to coordinate all necessary actions to ensure vendors can manufacture and supply newly selected/developed products on time. (Implementation). Responsibilities: Undertaking sourcing programmes globally to identify innovative product to compliment the company’s ongoing product portfolio. Assess prospective new vendors for commercial viability, factory compliance both from a quality and ethical/environmental perspectives, management/ownership culture/styles, financials condition. Undertake RFI’s. Draft detailed RFQ’s, supported with specifications (product and packaging) and general supply framework requirements (testing requirement, standards to be met, L/T’s, MOQ’s etc) to ensure all quotations offered have the optimum validity. Prepare costing comparisons and work up quotations into landed standard costs. Undertake from time to time benchmarking cost studies. Contribute to managing (maintaining and enhancing) vendor terms and conditions, supply agreements and alike. Work closely with internal colleagues in delivering effectively new products for both customer contracts won, and products selected for the company’s annual products catalogue/range reviews. Key Skills/Experience Required: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a global sourcing role, consumer products highly desirable. Demonstrate a natural ‘business mind’ understanding external factors that influence sourcing decisions, product cost and vendor management and collaboration principles. An individual who has a clear career path ambition in procurement and vendor management. Communication - conversant and articulate, good written skills. Administration – highly organised and well structured. Should be Excel and Word proficient (intermediate level as a minimum). Confident and outgoing character preferred with good inter-personal skills and able to work alongside key management/directors and vendors.
